Oregon unemployment rockets past 12% for highest in nation.

“Oregon’s unemployment rate has now risen in each of the last 14 months,” the Employment Department reported, “dating back to January 2008, when the rate was 5.3 percent.”

Pass it on: Quit moving to Portland — unless you are able to provide employment for 1+ person.

I heard this as soon as I woke up this morning, and it keeps climbing each month.

Yes, please think thrice before moving to Portland.  We love you, we just can’t afford you right now :(

I can’t even afford to move away right now!  Fingers crossed for mid-June.  I’m all budgeted out through June 30th — after that, big, big, big trouble.
